Normally, when you sit down for a meal, your concerns are about the taste, nutrition content, and possibly the price and environmental impact of your food. But occasionally, there’s a risk of getting a lot more than you bargained for with your sushi, salad, or even your glass of milk: foodborne illness.
Our newest featured health trap, foodborne illness tracks the spread of E. Coli, listeria, salmonella, and all sorts of other food-spread illnesses that can cause outbreaks of food poisoning or, in severe cases, far worse. There are some smart things everyone should be doing, such as only buying pasteurized, non-raw milk, using a meat thermometer when you cook, and paying careful attention to product recalls due to contamination. It’s your health and your body, and it’s up to you to take care of it. Follow the foodborne illness trap to stay up-to-date on all the latest food safety news. Although I won’t stop eating sushi anytime soon, I’m definitely going to stay informed about the risks associated with the foods I eat!
